Programme Overview
This prestigious scholarship is part of the broader AfOx Graduate Scholars Program. It offers African students the chance to pursue a one-year Master’s course at Oxford University. The program focuses on key areas that align with Africa’s Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals. These areas include:
- Food Systems
- Health Sciences
- Sustainable Water and Energy Systems
- Governance and Public Policy
- Entrepreneurship
As a scholar, you will participate in the Leadership and Impact Programme, where you will develop essential leadership skills for tackling global challenges. After completing your studies, you will engage in the Ubuntu Period of Service, a 4-6 month placement with organizations in Africa, where you will apply your knowledge and skills to real-world projects.

How to Apply
Here are the steps to apply:
- Submit Your Graduate Application: Apply to Oxford University via the graduate admissions portal. Be sure to meet the funding deadline for your course. Deadlines vary by department:
- 15th November 2024: Early application deadline for some courses.
- 3rd December 2024: For the Medical Sciences Division and other courses.
- 7th-9th January 2025: Humanities, Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences, and Social Sciences.
- 28th-29th January 2025: Social Sciences, Law, Continuing Education, and other courses.
- Interview Invitation: If eligible, you will receive an invitation for a virtual interview between February and April 2025.
- Final Selection: Successful applicants will be notified by July 2025 and receive an offer letter with onboarding information.
