Carleton University’s Jean Monnet Chair in EU External Relations is seeking a short-term visiting scholar for May/June 2025. This prestigious position offers the chance to contribute to advanced academic discussions on the European Union’s role as a regional actor, particularly in its relations with Russia and China.
Position Details
- Duration: Three weeks, between May 5 – June 17, 2025.
- Location: Institute of European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (EURUS), Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.
Responsibilities
Teaching:
- Deliver six three-hour sessions on EU regional cooperation mechanisms as part of the advanced course titled The EU, Russia, and China: Competing Regionalism in Eurasia.
- Design the course module outline.
- Evaluate students’ written and oral work.
- Conduct student consultations.
Research Lecture:
- Present one research lecture at the Centre for European Studies, focusing on the EU as a regional actor.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be affiliated with an academic institution in an EU member state.
- Academic Requirements:
- Completed Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Proven teaching experience at the undergraduate/graduate level.
- Active research program and a record of publications related to the EU’s foreign policy or regional cooperation.
