If you’re in the final stretch of your PhD and passionate about global trade policy, the WTO Support Programme for Doctoral Studies offers a rare opportunity to sharpen your research within the very institution shaping world trade. This programme supports doctoral students from developing and least-developed countries who are researching WTO-related topics.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be a national of a developing or least-developed WTO member or a country in accession
  • Be pursuing a PhD in economics, law, international relations, or a related field
  • Be in the final stages (75% complete) of your thesis
  • Be fluent in English, French, or Spanish
