Are you a graduate student or recent graduate passionate about shaping public policy, especially on issues that impact women and families? 

The 2026 WCPI Congressional Fellowship on Women and Public Policy is now accepting applications! This prestigious program, hosted on Capitol Hill, equips scholars and aspiring leaders with the tools and experiences needed to influence policy with a gendered lens.

• Real-world experience as a full-time legislative assistant for 40 hours per week in a Congressional office.
• Professional development through weekly policy issue seminars led by WCPI staff.
• Networking opportunities with policymakers, thought leaders, and fellow scholars.
• Financial support including:
  • A $4,400 monthly stipend (pre-tax) for the duration of the 7-month program (January–July).
  • An additional $1,000 to cover health insurance expenses.

To apply, you must meet the following requirements:

• Be enrolled in a graduate program or have completed one within two years of the fellowship start date (January 2026).
• Have completed at least 9 hours of graduate coursework.
• Demonstrate a strong interest in research and policy related to women and family issues.
• Be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Be fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Ensure your application includes all of the following:

• A professional resume
• Official academic transcripts
• Three letters of recommendation
• Responses to two essay questions
• A completed application form

Note: Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

• Candidates will be evaluated based on:
• Academic performance
• Demonstrated passion for public policy
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Adaptability and professionalism
