The African-German Young Leaders in Business (AGYLE) programme is now accepting applications for its 2025 cohort. This initiative unites young leaders from Africa and Germany, fostering collaborations to develop innovative solutions for sustainable urban development. Through direct engagement, insightful dialogues, and strategic networking, AGYLE cultivates long-term partnerships and fresh business perspectives.

Programme Theme

Green Cities Rising – Pioneering Sustainable Urban Development

In light of rapid urbanization and the pressing climate crisis, AGYLE 2025 focuses on sustainable, intelligent, and inclusive urban planning. The programme addresses critical areas such as mobility, architecture, energy supply, waste management, and digitization.

Key questions include:

  • How can businesses contribute to green urban development and growth?
  • How can African and German companies collaborate to promote sustainable urban development?

Programme Highlights

  • AGYLE Live Week in Germany (September 15–19, 2025): A week of inspiration and networking where 25 young leaders from six countries convene to discuss pressing issues with business and political stakeholders, present business cases, share best practices, and articulate their visions.
  • Intercultural Collaboration: Engage with peers from Africa and Germany on real-world challenges related to “Green Cities Rising,” applying and enhancing your skills in a collaborative environment.
  • Leadership & Skill Development: Participate in tailored formats designed to strengthen leadership capabilities and foster personal growth.
  • Long-Term Network: Join a robust business network connecting professionals across Africa and Germany, establishing enduring relationships that support international career advancement.
  • Digital Events & Insights: Access unique insights into current trends and emerging topics in African-German economic relations through our digital formats.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Aged 40 years or younger.
  • Minimum of 3 years executive experience or entrepreneurial background.
  • Originating from or having at least 5 years of professional experience in Ethiopia, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal, Tunisia, or Germany.
  • Committed to fostering a sustainable future and promoting green cities.
  • Willingness to actively engage in the AGYLE alumni network.
