2025 Legacy & Nurturing Hearts Scholarships: Empowering Nigerian Students and Future Leaders

If you’re a brilliant indigent student or a female passionate about children’s ministry, this could be your chance to secure funding for your education.
Basic Eligibility Criteria (Applies to Both Scholarships)
To be considered for either scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Demonstrated Financial Need – Must come from a less privileged background (a short personal statement is required).
- Academic & Personal Excellence – Must have a strong academic record and good character (verifiable).
- Enrollment Status – Must be currently enrolled or accepted into a public tertiary institution (private institutions are NOT eligible).
- Previous Beneficiaries – Students who have received at least two scholarships from the foundation are NOT eligible to reapply.
- Multiple Applications – Candidates may apply for both the Legacy and Nurturing Hearts scholarships but can receive only one if selected.
- Legacy Scholarship (For All Eligible Students in Public Institutions)This long-standing one-time, non-renewable scholarship is designed to provide financial support for outstanding but financially challenged students in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
- Eligibility:
- Must be a Nigerian resident studying at a public tertiary institution (Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education). (The West African Theological Seminary and the Life Theological Seminary, Ikorodu, are included.)
- Must meet ALL basic eligibility criteria at the time of application.
- Must submit a complete online application form. • If accepted into a public tertiary institution but yet to begin coursework, you must provide a JAMB admission letter.
- If already enrolled, you must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 to be considered.
- Recommendation Letter Required – Must submit a letter from a cleric, Head of Department, Course Adviser, or Dean of Students.
- Interview (if required) – Selected candidates may be invited for an interview with the scholarship board.
- No Age Restriction – Open to students of all ages.
- Eligibility:
- Nurturing Hearts Scholarship (For females aged 18-28 Passionate About Children’s Ministry) Launched in honor of Rev. Mrs. Adeyinka Badejo, the Nurturing Hearts Scholarship supports young Nigerian women passionate about children’s ministry. This renewable scholarship can be extended once based on continued eligibility.
- Eligibility:
- Must be a Nigerian resident and meet basic eligibility criteria (waived in some cases).
- Must be female and between 18-28 years old (proof required).
- Must submit a complete online application form.
- Must be pursuing a degree, vocational training, or professional development related to children’s ministry.
- Must submit a 500-750 word essay detailing:
- Your passion for children’s ministry
- Your plans to positively impact young children
- Any prior experience in children’s ministry (if applicable)
- Must provide two letters of recommendation from a cleric, mentor, professor, or counselor attesting to your character and dedication to children’s ministry.
- Interview (if required) – Selected candidates may be invited for an interview with the scholarship board.

2025 Scholarship Application Timeline
- March 15: Application portal opens
- April 30: Application deadline
- May 1 – June 13: Application screening and selection
- June 16 – July 11: Awardee notification & second-round interviews (Only selected candidates will be notified)
- July 21: Final awardee list submitted to the Board of Trustees
- August: Awardees recognized during the Annual Memorial Lecture, and scholarships awarded.
