Harvard University’s Center for African Studies is excited to announce the Spring 2025 African Studies Workshop, a platform dedicated to exploring Africa’s evolving role in the global arena. This initiative aims to foster insightful discussions, share innovative research, and build a vibrant community of scholars, practitioners, and students passionate about African studies.
Workshop Details
- Schedule: Mondays, 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM ET, commencing February 24 to May 23, 2025.
- Format: Hybrid sessions—participants can join in person at the Center for African Studies or online.
- In-Person Venue: Center for African Studies, 1280 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd Floor, Cambridge, MA 02138.
- Refreshments: A light lunch will be provided for in-person attendees.
Call for Papers
The workshop invites submissions under the theme “African Studies for the 21st Century.” We are seeking contributions in the following formats:
- Academic Paper Presentations: Showcase your latest or forthcoming research.
- Doctoral Job Market Papers or Thesis Presentations: Present your work to a supportive and knowledgeable audience.
- Book Launches and Book Talks: Introduce your recent publications to the academic community.
For works in progress, papers will be pre-circulated a week in advance to facilitate constructive feedback and discussion.
