This initiative seeks to promote access to U.S. higher education for high-achieving, low-income Nigerian students at both undergraduate and graduate levels. By supporting financial assistance and advising services, the program aims to bridge the gap for students unable to afford application-related costs.

Program Goals

  • Provide financial assistance to 40 high-achieving, low-income Nigerian students likely to secure full financial aid from U.S. colleges and universities.
  • Cover key costs, including:
  • Standardized test fees.
  • Application fees.
  • Airfare, visa fees, and SEVIS fees.
  • Settling-in expenses.
  • Enhance support through standard advising centers in Calabar, Jos, Ibadan, and Kano, and collaborate with Education USA networks in Abuja and Lagos.

Eligibility Criteria

Organizations eligible to apply include:

  • Non-profit organizations (e.g., think tanks, civil society groups, NGOs).
  • Educational institutions (public and private).
  • Public international organizations and governmental institutions.

Key Responsibilities of the Implementing Partner

The selected partner will:

  1. Collaborate closely with education specialists in Abuja and Lagos.
  2. Support the Education USA Opportunity Funds Program as part of the 2025-26 Education Advising Program in Nigeria.
  3. Manage standard advising operations in regional centers across Calabar, Jos, Ibadan, and Kano.
