Key Responsibilities
As a Security Assistant, you will:
- Support Security Planning: Assist in developing and implementing security strategies to safeguard UNICEF staff and assets.
- Ensure Safety and Security Services: Monitor security risks and recommend appropriate measures.
- Build Security Networks: Foster relationships with local law enforcement and community stakeholders to enhance security.
- Contribute to Knowledge Management: Support training and capacity-building initiatives to improve security awareness.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Completion of secondary education, supplemented by technical/military/police courses.
- University coursework in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a security-related environment.
- Experience in armed conflict environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the North-Eastern Nigeria context is an asset.
Language Skills:
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or local languages (Hausa, Kanuri, Fulani) is an asset.
