Internship Details
- Position: Staff Assistant Intern
- Type: Paid Internship ($17.80/hour)
- Schedule: 20–25 hours per week (flexible)
- Semester: Spring 2025
- Location: Washington, DC (in-person or hybrid options)
- Duration: January 13 – May 2025
What You’ll Do
As a Staff Assistant Intern, you’ll play a pivotal role in the center’s daily operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with intern onboarding and orientation.
- Supporting strategic partnership efforts.
- Creating recruitment and marketing materials for internships and fellowships.
- Helping coordinate the annual fellowship competition.
- Recruiting and onboarding interns for various program offices.
- Maintaining and updating the alumni database.
- Providing support at the front desk when needed.
- Assisting in the organization of center-wide events.
This diverse range of tasks will enhance your skills in organization, communication, and event management.

Ideal candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and flexibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- An interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Experience in graphic design (preferred).
- A passion for international relations or public policy (preferred).
Eligibility Criteria
This opportunity is open to:
- Current undergraduates, graduate students, or recent graduates (within one year).
- Those accepted into an advanced degree program.
- International students with F-1 or J-1 visas and work authorization (university approval required).
